Department Of Defense Sexual Assault Awareness And Prevention Summit

- During sexual assault awareness and prevention month, learn more from local agencies who help victims of sexual assault in your civilian and military communities. Harrisburg Area Veterans Stand Down

- The YWCA Greater Harrisburg's Veterans Stand Down event is open to all homeless, in need and at-risk veterans. The event will feature general and VA health care services, mental wellness and alternative health services, free personal care and clothing items, a free lunch and other services such as legal, housing assistance and benefits. It will also feature a job fair for veterans.

Full-Day Suicide Prevention Program In Philadelphia

- The David Farber ASPIRE Center is presenting this full-day suicide prevention symposium. Topics include the ethical, medico-legal, and treatment issues in dealing with individuals at risk of suicide, as well as secure firearm storage and suicide prevention. Participants can earn seven continuing education credits.

Veteran Trout Fishing Derby In York County

- Glenn Hope Care Farm is hosting this fishing event for all veterans. The organization, located on a 43-acre farm in York County, offers activities to veterans and their families, including horticulture therapy, animal husbandry, submersion in nature, hiking, fishing, hunting, camping, agricultural classes and special events. - If you or someone you know has suffered a brain injury, this support group offers a relaxed atmosphere where attendees may be comfortable sharing their feelings, discussing important topics, and encouraging others. The group includes survivors, family members, caregivers and professionals who assist those individuals. Meetings are held in the Fredericksen Pavillion, ground 08 conference room.
   
Lancaster Vet Center To Host Weekly Veteran's Guitar Group

- Veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard and Reservists who have served in any combat theater are welcome to join weekly sessions at the Lancaster Vet Center. Sessions will focus on learning to play the guitar, song writing, and advancing guitar playing techniques. All levels of experience are welcome.

Empowerment Workshops For Women Veterans
 
- First and third Sundays of every month, 1-3 p.m.
- This is a workshop that utilizes free writing, breathing techniques and community agreements. Free writing is allowing the freedom of thoughts and ideas to flow unto the paper without judgment or expectation of what it will become. Previous writing experience not required. This workshop is free and open to all women veterans, all eras, all separation statuses and service members. Be supported by healthy camaraderie, clear communication and community empowerment.
